Its actually nice to be reading a novel-sized chapter. Many of the old classic fanfictions were written in this way... and it feels wonderful to be reading something by a good author that actually has detail.

On a different subject: I agree with you that Ender's Game is horrible, but... around ten years later, he wrote Ender's Shadow, and a few others that follow. Ender's Shadow is almost nothing like Ender's Game. It's actually well thought out, and detailed. Not perfect... but my real recommendation is the sequel to Ender's Shadow, Shadow of the Hegemon. That novel is oddly similar to this story, or at least stylistically, and I believe you would enjoy it.

I think you have a wonderful re-imagining of the Potterverse. Except your version is better written and explained. I don't care about the length....some of my favorite stories span many books *cough, cough, Harry Potter, Anita Blake, Sookie Stackhouse, Sherlock Holmes: Need I go on?* I was impressed enough to spend a couple of days reading up to this point. Your bit of foreshadowing was very impressive in this chapter! I was thinking of the Defense teacher, but your choice is diabolical. I hope your health improves. I re-read this chapter when I saw that the next was up, so as to refamiliarize my self with the story - It is too bad that Fawkes or one of his kind cannot help with the healing of Heather, one would think that the magical songs of a sentient, healing magical creature would be able to heal the mind, ( I do realize that one of the major premises of the entire story has been that healing the mind is no where near as effective as healing magic on the body, that in fact neurosis and sociopathies abound among the magical folk, but I like Heather, and am saddened to see her so damaged and her agressor getting off essentially undamaged.

thanks for continuing this - Will there be a tie in back to the great Hunt? That imagery has stuck for several years, yet I have never really been able to see how it contributed to the overall story line and plot development.

Mike, I love this story, but here we are at almost a year since the latest update. I recall you lost your thumb-drive with most of your material on it, including the last chapter of The Last Horcrux, which is one of my all-time favorite stories.

Here's hoping you end up finishing these, and thanks for all the enjoyment you've given me and countless others by taking the time to write these stories.

Whew! I have finally reached the end of the story, as of 12:21am on Monday, after starting it sometime Saturday afternoon. Very well put together story and I like the original characters you've given us. I also like the fact that Ron, for all his flaws, is a decent person and friend.

I also enjoyed your explanation for "CAPS LOCK" Harry from OotP, with what Snape did to him.

Okay, so first and foremost I have been reading this story on and off for about THREE YEARS now and I can honestly say that the only reason I would even consider putting that much time into a fan fic was if it was of FAR better quality than the norm--or indeed, even the sorce material.

This is.

It is, flat out, the best HP fan fic I have ever read.

Now that we have the fannishness out of the way I have to do the standard PLEASE UPDATE OMG!!! But, really, take as much time as you need. There is no way I could give up on this story now even if I wanted to and I certainly do not. I am simply in love w/ it.

And, on a side note, Lockheart.....?

Did I see what I think I saw? Cause Heather was FREAKING OUT and...Lockheart's more serious...and creepy...and trying to get Harry kicked out of Hogwarts (or the protection of Hogwarts? or, make harry angry...or enraged?)and WAY smarter....? And, and, and...SOFT HANDS...?
